Trace the places behind the Stander Gang, Daisy de Melker and other Johannesburg crime stories. Follow your host between stops, examine an unsolved case through a detective activity and expect theatrical surprises.
What to expect
Join a guided afternoon journey through more than a century of Johannesburg crime stories. Your host shares the main accounts at stops outside the vehicle, with shorter stories along the route, a pub stop, a detective-style game and theatrical effects.
The route covers the Stander Gang’s safe houses, Ponte, the Great Trust Bank Robbery, Daisy de Melker’s house and the Troyeville Hotel’s Ducktail Gang story. It also discusses the disappearance of baby Micaela, Gert van Rooyen, the Foster Gang and its cave hideout viewed from Kensington Ridge, the unsolved Bubbles Schroeder case, and the “Body-in-the-Lake” story.
This production discusses murder and other serious crimes, with disturbing stories and staged visual effects. Although guests aged six and older are admitted, it is intended mainly for adults. Please consider the subject matter when booking for younger guests.

For private groups, with stories on board and at the main stops. Choose a bus size to suit your party; minimum charges apply.
Plan your visit
- Time: daytime tours only, from 13:00 to 17:00.
- Starting point: Sunnyside Park Hotel (Holiday Inn), Parktown, Johannesburg. You can eat and drink at the hotel beforehand. Check your ticket for meeting instructions.
- Bring: a camera or phone, torch, flat walking shoes, umbrella and money for the pub stop.
- Book your way: solo visitors are welcome on public dates; friends and families can book together.
- Stay over: see the Sunnyside Park Hotel accommodation option and ask the hotel about event guest rates.
Private groups

Minimum charge for 10 guests; maximum 100 guests.
Bus · R499 per person
- 20 seats: minimum charge for 15 guests.
- 34 seats: minimum charge for 21 guests.
- 57 seats: minimum charge for 35 guests.
Below the minimum guest count, the corresponding minimum charge applies. Smaller parties can join a public convoy with no group minimum.
